Zonguldak Chief Public Prosecutor Gökhan Kapağan received the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, in his office.
During the meeting held at Prosecutor Kapağan’s office in the Zonguldak Courthouse, comprehensive evaluations were made regarding the academic achievements of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, which has a deep-rooted history of nearly a century, its national and international collaborations, and the quality-oriented studies carried out at the university. It was emphasized that universities are not limited to providing education and academic knowledge, but also play an important role in the social, cultural, and economic development of the cities in which they are located.
Expressing his satisfaction with the kind visit, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated that, in addition to its academic achievements, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University has made significant progress in the fields of internationalization, research and development activities, and social contribution, and provided information to Prosecutor Kapağan about the ongoing work at the university. Emphasizing that BEUN stands out not only with its academic studies in the higher education community but also with the strong collaborations it has established with public institutions, the private sector, and local stakeholders, Özölçer noted that the University has implemented important projects in social, cultural, scientific, and sports fields. He also stated that practices supporting students to develop as well-rounded individuals, alongside their academic growth, are among the University’s primary priorities. Referring to the university’s projects contributing to regional development, Özölçer underlined that strong communication and cooperation among public institutions are of great importance for scientific advancement. At the end of his speech, Rector Özölçer expressed his gratitude to Chief Public Prosecutor Gökhan Kapağan, who closely follows and supports the activities and work of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University.

A Work Addressing BEUN’s Visionary Projects and Academic Achievements Was Presented
As part of the visit, the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, presented a copy of the book titled "Bir Asırlık Birikim, Yeni Bir Vizyon: Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit Üniversitesi" (A Century of Experience, A New Vision: Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University) to Gökhan Kapağan, Zonguldak Chief Public Prosecutor. The book highlights the university’s academic achievements between 2022 and 2025, including its national and international collaborations, the achievements obtained in scientific, cultural, artistic, and sporting fields, the visionary projects contributing to social awareness, and the significant progress recorded in institutional accreditation processes.
