Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı ÖZÖLÇER

Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı ÖZÖLÇER was born in Çorum in 1969. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in the same city. He graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering at Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ) in 1990. He obtained his Master's degree in 1993 and his Ph.D. in 1998, both from KTÜ. He began his academic career as a Research Assistant in the Department of Civil Engineering at KTÜ in 1991. In 2001, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, then known as Zonguldak Karaelmas University, in the Department of Civil Engineering. In the same department, he became an Associate Professor in 2012 and a Professor in 2017.
Since joining Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University in 2001, he has held various positions such as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Director of Zonguldak Vocational School. Additionally, he has served as a member of the Faculty Board, Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Board, Faculty Management Board, Senate, and University Board. Since 2020, he has been serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
Prof. Dr. ÖZÖLÇER, who is a member of various scientific organizations and commissions of the Chamber of Civil Engineers, has conducted research and projects in the fields of Coastal and Harbor Engineering, Coastal Protection Structures, Coastal Erosion, Water Resources Engineering, Sewage Structures, Renewable Energy, and Hydroelectricity. In 2020, he also served as the Chairman of the Water Resources Development Commission of the 1st Water Summit conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı ÖZÖLÇER can speak English and is married with two children.
