“Yeşilay Fest” Started at BEUN

The opening ceremony of ‘Yeşilay Fest’ organized to bring social and cultural activities together for the youth and raise awareness for a healthy lifestyle was held with great participation at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN).

The program held on BEUN Farabi Campus was attended by BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Zehra Safi Öz, Yeşilay Zonguldak Branch Manager Nail Altuntaş, academics, students, and many citizens.

Speaking at the opening of the festival, İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, emphasized the importance of supporting young people not only through academic achievement but also through social, cultural, and sports activities, and stated:

“As Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, we attach great importance to raising our students not only as academically successful individuals, but also as strong individuals in terms of social, cultural, and personal development. In this regard, we are very pleased to host Yeşilay Fest at our University, which raises awareness among young people, promotes healthy living, and strengthens social solidarity. I would like to thank, in particular, Mehmet Dinç, General President of Yeşilay, the Yeşilay Zonguldak Branch Administration, and all institutions and organizations that contributed to the organization of the festival. I hope our students will have both an enjoyable and productive time throughout the festival.”

Following the opening program, Rector İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, together with protocol members accompanying him, visited the stands set up in the festival area and received information about the activities being carried out.

Within the scope of the festival, representatives of various non-governmental organizations, particularly Yeşilay, AFAD, and Turkish Red Crescent, set up stands to inform students about their fields of activity. In addition, traditional handicraft activities such as wood painting and drawing were organized, while traditional games reflecting Turkish culture, such as mangala, and various sports competitions also attracted significant interest from students.

It was stated that colorful scenes would take place on campus throughout the three-day festival with concerts and various social activities organized by student communities.
