
The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer hosted Hakan Yüksel, the Member of the 1st Chamber of Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK), Ergün Şahin, the Member of the 3rd Criminal Chamber of Court of Cassation, Çetin Durak, the Member of 2nd Chamber of the Court of Cassation, Hüseyin Kürşat Serbes, the Member of the 9th Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation, along with their accompanying delegation at his office. During the visit, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer provided members of the HSK and Court of Cassation with information ranging from higher education to regional development.
At the meeting held at the Rectorate Office in Farabi Campus; Zonguldak Chief Public Prosecutor Gökhan Kapağan, Chairman of the Justice Commission Birtan Şeker, and district chief public prosecutors were also present. During the visit, comprehensive evaluations were made on strengthening cooperation between higher education and public institutions, the social contribution mission of universities, and their role in regional development.
BEUN’s Achievements and Institutional Development Were Presented
As part of the visit, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer provided the delegation with detailed information about the deep-rooted history, academic accumulation, and the national and international achievements of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University in recent years.
Özölçer emphasized that the university contributes significantly to regional development not only through its education and training activities but also through research and development studies, social contribution projects, and public-private sector collaborations. He stated that the university continues to increase its scientific production capacity day by day and that efforts aimed at raising students as well-rounded individuals are being carried out with determination.

In his remarks regarding the visit, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated:
“As Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, we move forward confidently into the future with the strength we derive from our deep-rooted past. We continue our efforts uninterruptedly to carry our academic achievements to higher levels, to increase our scientific production capacity, and to make our university more visible at the international level. Universities are not only institutions that produce knowledge; they are also centers of learning that shape the social, cultural, and economic development of the regions in which they are located. In this regard, the strong collaborations we have established with our public institutions add significant value both to our scientific studies and to our social contribution mission. The Program Concluded with Mutual Exchange of Views and Evaluations
The visit concluded at the Rectorate Office following the expression of mutual goodwill wishes and a commemorative photo session. As part of the program, the delegation performed the Friday prayer at Farabi Mosque and then continued the meeting at Cafe Akademi with the of Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu. There, comprehensive evaluations were made regarding university-public cooperation and regional development. Following mutual exchange of views, the program concluded with the presentation of good wishes and regards.
