The 2025–2026 Academic Council Meeting of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Karadeniz Ereğli Vocational School and the Vocational School of Information Technologies was held.
The meeting, hosted at the Kepez Campus, was attended by BEUN Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu, Director of the Vocational School of Information Technologies Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Erdoğdu, Director of Karadeniz Ereğli Vocational School Asst. Prof. Dr. Semih Çakır, vice directors, and academic staff.
Academic and Administrative Activities of the Vocational Schools Presented
During the meeting, the directors of both vocational schools delivered a general presentation on the activities carried out during the 2024–2025 Academic Year. In their presentations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdoğdu and Asst. Prof. Dr. Çakır provided detailed information on the planned activities for the 2025–2026 Academic Year, the new academic year roadmap, the numbers of academic and administrative staff and students, as well as completed and ongoing scientific, social, and academic projects. The directors also shared information on projects they aim to implement during the academic year and on social, cultural, and community-oriented activities planned for students. They concluded their remarks by expressing their gratitude to Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, for his continuous support of the development of both vocational schools.
Prof. Dr. Kutoğlu: “We Educate Productive, Entrepreneurial, and Well-Equipped Individuals”
Following the presentations, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu delivered a comprehensive evaluation of the 2024–2025 Academic Year. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Kutoğlu expressed his best wishes for the Spring Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year, hoping it would be successful and beneficial for the Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University family. Emphasizing that vocational schools stand out not only for their academic achievements but also for their scientific projects, academic collaborations, and social contribution-oriented activities carried out in cooperation with public institutions and relevant sectors, Prof. Dr. Kutoğlu stated that vocational schools hold a highly significant position within the university in terms of both theoretical and practical education.
Noting that student projects supported under the ÜNİDES Program constitute a major achievement, Prof. Dr. Kutoğlu emphasized that innovative projects developed in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, mobile software applications, and game development are highly valuable in demonstrating students’ vision and competencies. Stressing the importance of educating vocational school students as productive and entrepreneurial individuals who possess problem-solving skills, are aware of their professional responsibilities, and are equipped to meet the needs of both the sector and the modern age, Prof. Dr. Kutoğlu stated that this approach is among the university’s fundamental objectives. At the end of his speech, he expressed his gratitude—particularly to Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer—for his strong support of the development of all university units, as well as to all academic and administrative staff who contribute to enhancing the visibility of vocational schools within the academic community.
