
Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Senate Meeting was held at Çaycuma Campus with a large attendance.
The 2025-2026 Academic Calendar, including academic activities planned for the year, the needs of students, and the orientation program for new students, was discussed at length during the meeting.
BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer congratulated the units that have contributed to the process of the 5-year-long full accreditation by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) and wished success for the new term. Emphasizing the policy of a student-oriented approach, Rector Prof. Dr. Özölçer stated that the university prioritizes students’ needs in its activities in the process of academic and social development.
Efforts undertaken during the 2024 academic year under the policy of a sustainable environment have been discussed in the meeting. The certificates of the units that have been awarded the “Zero-waste Certificate” have been delivered by Rector Prof. Dr. Özölçer.
Commenting on the Senate Meeting, Rector Prof. Dr. Özölçer stated the following:
“All the academic and administrative units have been preparing meticulously for a strong start to the 2025-2026 academic year. We discussed a wide range of topics, from the academic calendar and needs of our students to annual programs and the orientation process of our new students. The 5-year-long full accreditation by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) is a source of pride. I congratulate the academic and administrative units that have contributed to the process and believe that they will continue with the same dedication. We, as BEUN, embrace a student-oriented approach and aim to provide an atmosphere to support their career development. The steps we are to take, considering the expectations of the students, will strengthen the future of our university. I believe this meeting will be beneficial in many aspects for our students and academic and administrative staff, and I hope the decisions will yield positive results.”
The senate meeting held at Çaycuma Campus ended with a review of the terms before the 2025-2026 academic year and assessment of the units on campus.
