The program for the 18 March Commemoration Day of Çanakkale Martyrs and 111th Anniversary of Çanakkale Victory, organized by Zonguldak Governorship and Zonguldak Provincial Directorate of National Education, was hosted by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN).
Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu and his wife Güney Hacıbektaşoğlu, Garrison Commander Major Ayhan Kafalı, Zonguldak Chief Public Prosecutor Gökhan Kapağan, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, city and district dignitaries, teachers, students, and parents.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition consisting of the works of top-ranking students in the painting, poetry, and composition competitions themed “Çanakkale Saga” was held. Dignitaries visited the exhibition and examined the works of the students.
Organized by teachers and students of Zonguldak Erdemir Anadolu High School, the program began with flag ceremony, a moment of silence, and the singing of the National Anthem.
Following these, Oratorio titled “Çanakkale with Letters” was performed. Emotional performance was widely appreciated by the audience as Çanakkale spirit was revived through letters with an impressive narration. In the oratorio, it was emphasized that Çanakkale is not just a war but a symbol of a nation’s independence struggle and revival.
Governor Hacıbektaşoğlu thanked all the students and teachers who contributed to the organization of the program and congratulated them.
Later in the program, top ranking students were presented with their awards. The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer presented the students with their awards and gifts and congratulated them. Rector Özölçer highlighted the significance of raising students with an awareness of history and stated that such events have a role in handing down the national values to the future generations.
The program organized for the 18 March Commemoration Day of Çanakkale Martyrs and 111th Anniversary of Çanakkale Victory gave participants the opportunity to have emotional moments and commemorate Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and all martyrs once again with gratitude, mercy, and grace.
