The first 2026 issue of the “Karaelmas Journal of Social Sciences”, which introduces qualified academic studies to the scientific community and was published by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN), has met its readers.

KARES, which began publication in 2023 and is published twice a year, continues to contribute to academic literature by bringing original research in various disciplines of history, literature, art, culture, and social sciences to the academic community. Prof. Dr. Yücel Namal, Editor-in-Chief of KARES, an international peer-reviewed journal, stated that their primary principle in preparing the new issue was to introduce original scientific studies to the field, adding that every article published undergoes a rigorous evaluation process. Prof. Dr. Namal noted that the first issue of 2026 features scientific studies by academics and researchers from different universities across Türkiye, while the evaluation processes were once again carried out by faculty members from various universities.

Emphasizing that KARES aims to contribute to the body of knowledge in the field of social sciences not only in Türkiye but also within international academic circles, Prof. Dr. Namal expressed his gratitude to Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer for his support for the publication of the journal. Prof. Dr. Namal also thanked the authors, reviewers, advisory board members, language editing board, editorial board, Department of Library and Documentation, and publishing team for their contributions to the preparation of the new issue and wished the first issue of 2026 success and benefit to the academic community and all researchers.
