Rector Özölçer: “We Promote Qualified Scientific Production Through BAP Support
BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer emphasized that he started a research transformation project in his term and added:
“We have worked with determination towards our goal to transform our university into a university with a strong research capacity and a proficiency in project producing since the beginning of our term in 2022. One of the topics we consider significant is BAP supported projects. BAP supported projects take on a significant role in producing qualified academic publications.
This support program resulted in better graduate level thesis by research assistants, lecturers, and students. Also, international publications and projects are produced by our academics and researchers. An increase of 79,62% in the number of projects and 97 million TL in the budget in 2025 when compared to 2021, is a clear sign of strong research culture of our university.
We support the increase in the number of publications on Q1 and Q2 levels with our paper support projects and contribute to the sustainability of scientific production with infrastructure investments. Our goal, in this respect, is to become a prospective research university, then be a research university, thus, continue to produce projects that support technological, economic, and social development of our country.
I would like to extend my gratitude to the President of the Council of Higher Education Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar and esteemed YÖK family. We appreciate his support that leads to our higher education vision. I would also like to thank all our academics and students and wish them success.
