Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) has successfully finalized its transition to natural gas as part of its sustainable and environmentally friendly vision. With the conclusion of conversion process on Ereğli Kepez Campus, the university has transition to modern, efficient, and eco-friendly heating systems at all its campuses.
As part of the ongoing practices in line with the eco-friendly vision, the natural gas conversion process has been completed on Alaplı, Çaycuma, Devrek, Doruk, Farabi, Gökçebey, İbni Sina, İncirharmanı, Kepez, Kilimli, 15 Temmuz, and Üzülmez campuses. This leads to the use of cleaner, economical, and sustainable energy on our campuses.
As part of the project completed on Ereğli Kepez Campus, all solid fuel systems have been converted into heating systems with natural gas. Also, as part of the project, drinking water systems and fire booster pump systems as well as the water tanks were renewed in accordance with the modern regulations leading to modern standards in the campus infrastructure. During the conversion process, energy efficiency was prioritized, energy saving devices were used, and smart systems monitoring the energy consumption were integrated. Thus, the aims to reduce energy costs and limit environmental effects were remarkably met.
