
Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University has taken another step towards strengthening its international academic collaborations. Within the scope of the Erasmus+ Program KA-171 Project, a delegation of academic and administrative staff from Mogadishu University visited BEUN.
Visiting BEUN within the scope of the Erasmus+ Program KA-171 Project, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Hussein Isse, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdirahman Ismail Dhaqane, Adam Mohamed Mohamud, and Anab Mohiodin Siyad were informed on the education, research, and administrative process of various faculties of the university.
In line with the program that lasts 5 days, Prof. Dr. Momaded Hussein Isse gave lessons at the Faculty of Theology and came together with academics and students. The meetings held to share information on the academic studies carried out at the faculties laid the groundwork for developing joint research areas between the two universities. Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdirahman Ismail Dhaqane held technical evaluations with the academic staff at the Department of Civil Engineering during his week of teaching mobility. Possible mutual projects were also discussed. Adam Mohamed Mohamud had the opportunity to examine the academic structure of the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Similarly, Anab Mohiodin Siyad, who took part in a training mobility program at the BEUN International Relations Office, observed the university’s internationalization processes, student and exchange mechanisms, and administrative practices.
An extensive meeting with the BEUN Technology Transfer Office (TTO) was also held within the scope of the visit. BEUN Secretary General Zehra Safi Öz and Secretary General of West Black Sea Development Agency (BAKKA) attended the meeting chaired by the Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu. The guest academic and administrative staff gave a presentation related to the Erasmus+ projects involving Mogadishu University and discussed new cooperation and project opportunities. The participants also exchanged views on potential joint research areas and project topics to be carried out between the two universities.
At the end of the meeting, the certificates of attendance were presented to the visiting academics, marking significant steps toward enhancing cooperation in various fields between the two universities. The parties agreed to strengthen undergraduate and graduate student exchanges, enhance international student admission processes, implement joint projects, and increase academic mobility.
In addition, the two universities decided to sign an internship exchange protocol in the fields of medicine and health sciences, further reinforcing their academic and scientific collaboration. Plans were also made to increase academic mobility and develop joint research and educational activities.
