Member of Department of Orthodontics at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Faculty of Dentistry, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orhan Çiçek has achieved a remarkable success in the science community. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çiçek was awarded two significant international awards within the scope of the “Editor of Distinction Awards 2026” given by Springer Nature, one of the most prestigious academic publishers in the world.

BEUN Continues to Strengthen Its Qualified Academic Contribution Vision in the International Arena

Given to a limited number of editors by Springer Nature every year, ‘Editor of Distinction Awards’ is awarded in line with the criteria such as execution of referee evaluation process efficiently and meticulously, contribution to the quality of scientific publication, ethical editorial approach, providing constructive feedback, and high professionality in academic communication.

In this respect, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çiçek was awarded with “Editorial Contribution Award”, and “Author Service Award” for his high-quality editorial work in BMC Oral Health and Scientific Reports journals. Çiçek’s prestigious success is a sign of the strong position of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University’s in the international scientific community and vision of effective academic production as well as his qualified academic competency.

Significant as they contribute to visibility of academic studies, especially in the field of health sciences on the global scale, such awards contribute to raising awareness for BEUN’s scientific production capacity and academic quality.
