The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University(BEUN), Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer welcomed Asst. Prof. Dr. Burcu Timur, who was awarded the “Doctoral Thesis of the Year” in the 2025 YÖK Outstanding Achievement Awards organized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), in his office.
During the visit held at the Rector’s Office on Farabi campus, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, BEUN Secretary General, and the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Zehra Safi Öz, and an award-winning Asst. Prof. Dr. Burcu Timur were present.
Rector Prof. Dr. Özölçer congratulated Asst. Prof. Burcu Timur received her “Doctoral Thesis of the Year” award in the field of health and sport sciences, and added:
This success our valuable member achieved in the ceremony in the field of health and sports sciences is a source of pride for our university. We take pride in our members with such achievements representing our university and city. With this in mind, I extend my gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his support in bringing Turkish Higher Education to a significant position worldwide. I would also like to extend my thanks to the President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and YÖK Family for their big contribution to help Turkish Universities be the face of the international academic community with their visionary projects and for deeming this award worthy of our distinguished academics. I would also like to thank Prof. Dr. Zeynep Şafak Teksin, the thesis advisor of our distinguished academic from Gazi University, for her contributions. As Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, the first university of the Republic and one of the stars of higher education, we will continue to produce such valuable studies that we take pride in.”
Asst. Prof. Dr. Burcu Timur expressed her pride and pleasure to be awarded “The Doctoral Thesis of the Year” and stated:
“I extend my gratitude towards President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who presented me with such a meaningful award for my doctoral thesis, a significant part of my academic life. I would also like to extend my thanks, particularly to the President of the Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and the YÖK family, who deemed me worthy of this award.
