The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer attended the “Hıfz Certification Ceremony” held at uzun Mehmet Mosque, in cooperation with Zonguldak Governorship and Türkiye Diyanet Foundation.
The program held at Uzun Mehmet Mosque was attended by Vice President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmet İshak Demir, Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu, Reisu’l Kurra Mustafa Demirkan, Zonguldak Chief Public Prosecutor Gökhan Kapağan, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Zonguldak Provincial Mufti İbrahim Halil Demir, city dignitaries, students, their families and many citizens.
Speaking in the program, which began with the recitation of Holy Qur’an, Vice President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmet İshak Demir stated that nearly 15 thousand people receive their Hıfz certification each year around Türkiye, and added that young individuals who recite the Holy Qur’an have a significant mission in preserving the religious and cultural heritage and passing on to future generations.
Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu congratulated the young students who completed their education, their teachers and families and highlighted the significance of hıfz tradition in our spiritual world.
Zonguldak Provincial Mufti İbrahim Halil Demir emphasized that Hıfz trainings continue to expand across the city and stated that 42 female students the previous day and 35 male students on the day of the program received their certificates.
Qur’an Recitation from Young Hafizes
Following the speeches, students recited the Holy Qur’an. During the program, which was followed by the attendees with deep reverence, 35 students were presented with their certificates following the Reisu’l Kurra Mustafa Demirkan’s prayers.
Rector Özölçer: “Huffaz Are the Strongest Guarantee of the Spiritual Future of Our Nation”
In his remarks on the program, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated the following:
“I am pleased to be a part of the happiness of our children who reached the distinguished position of being a Hafiz, by engraving the Holy Qur’an in their hearts and minds. Hıfz doesn’t only require having a strong memory but puts patience, determination, discipline, and ethics in the center of life.
I wholeheartedly believe that young hafizes will take honesty, compassion, justice, and knowledge as a guide, no matter what profession they get into in the future. I congratulate valuable teachers, students’ families, and institutions contributing to this meaningful success. Each hafiz and teacher who make an effort to preserve the Holy Qur’an is one of the most valuable investments in the future of our nation. May Allah preserve and increase knowledge and wisdom of our huffaz.”
The Ceremony Was Appreciated with its Spiritual Atmosphere the Hıfz Certification Ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates and a commemorative photo.
