On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer attended the Zonguldak Protocol Eid Celebration Program hosted by the Governorship of Zonguldak.
The program, hosted by the Zonguldak Governorship and held at the Police House, was attended by: Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu, AK Party Zonguldak Member of Parliament Muammer Avcı and Ahmet Çolakoğlu, Republican People's Party (CHP) Zonguldak Deputy Deniz Yavuzyılmaz, Garrison Commander Personnel Major Ayhan Kafalı, Zonguldak Mayor Tahsin Erdem, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, provincial and district dignitaries, and members of the press.
During the well-attended program, Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu stated that Eids are among the most beautiful moments of unity and togetherness; they are exceptional times that serve to reinforce friendship and brotherhood, replace resentment with love and mercy, and keep spiritual and cultural values alive by bringing elders and children together. Governor Hacıbektaşoğlu congratulated everyone attending the program organized for Eid al-Fitr and wished all dignitaries and their families a holiday filled with health, happiness, and peace.
Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer: "Eids are the most precious times that unite hearts"
Expressing the peace of reaching the holiday after the spiritual atmosphere of the month of Ramadan, Rector Özölçer included the following statements in his address:
"As we leave behind the holy Ramadan-ı Şerif, the month of mercy, abundance, and purification, we experience the happiness of reaching Eid al-Fitr, where feelings of love, affection, and brotherhood are felt most intensely. Eids are the most special times when grievances are left behind, hearts are united, and respect, tolerance, and solidarity come to life. In the ancient culture of our beloved nation, Eid is not just a day of joy, but also an exceptional meeting that strengthens our unity and togetherness and reminds us once again of our national and spiritual values.
As expressed in the verses of 'Bayramlar Bayram Olsun’ (Let Eids Be Eids) by the late Abdurrahim Karakoç, one of the important names of our literature, Eids are exceptional periods of time that carry relief to hearts, peace to homes, and hope to humanity. We hope that these meaningful days will further strengthen our social solidarity.
I pray to Allah Almighty that the fasts kept, prayers said, and worship performed throughout the month of Ramadan be accepted. I wish that this spiritual atmosphere brought by the holiday serves as an occasion for peace, tranquility, and well-being, especially for our heartland and for all the oppressed experiencing difficulties in different regions of the world.
On this occasion, I would like to thank our Zonguldak Governorship, especially our Honorable Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu, for leading the organization of such a meaningful program, as well as our esteemed deputies and all our provincial protocol. I commemorate our beloved martyrs with mercy and gratitude and express my thanks to our heroic veterans. I congratulate our Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University family, our fellow citizens from Zonguldak, our beloved nation, and the Turkish-Islamic world on Eid al-Fitr with my most heartfelt feelings; I pray to Allah that we reach many more holidays in health, peace, and happiness."
The program concluded with a commemorative photo session following the celebration ceremony.
