Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer attended the 2nd Communication Council, organized by the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye at the Ankara ATO Congresium with the theme “Türkiye Century: The Century of Communication,” with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The program, held with the attendance of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was attended by President of the Directorate of Communications Prof. Dr. Burhanettin Duran, ministers, President of the Council of Higher Education Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, university rectors, academics, and representatives of public institutions and organizations.

Türkiye’s Communication Vision Addressed from a Multidimensional Perspective

At the Council, Türkiye’s new vision in the field of communication was comprehensively evaluated through sessions covering various topics, including strategic communication, public diplomacy, local and digital media, artificial intelligence, combating disinformation, the transformation of the media ecosystem, crisis communication, and the future of communication policies. Speaking at the opening of the program, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that he believes the findings, evaluations, and outcomes to be produced through the common mind of the Council will make significant contributions to further strengthening Türkiye’s communication capacity. Stating that the Türkiye Century vision will be supported by a strong understanding of communication, President Erdoğan emphasized that Türkiye’s story will be conveyed to the world more powerfully with an approach inspired by civilizational values.

President of the Directorate of Communications Prof. Dr. Burhanettin Duran stated that a comprehensive study was carried out during the preparation process of the Council with the contributions of hundreds of academics and communication experts, adding that the final declaration to be prepared will make significant contributions to Türkiye’s strategic communication policies.

Following the 2nd Communication Council, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer made the following statements:

“The 2nd Communication Council organized by our Directorate of Communications of the Presidency has been a highly valuable consultation platform that will shape the future of our country’s communication policies. Evaluating the rapid transformation in the field of communication from a scientific perspective and addressing it through a common mind approach are of great importance for the goals of the Türkiye Century. I sincerely believe that the strategies developed in the field of communication in line with the Türkiye Century vision put forward by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will further strengthen our country’s effectiveness in the international arena. I extend my gratitude to our President for his visionary evaluations expressed at the Council.
