The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer attended the program, organized under the Zonguldak Governorship by Zonguldak Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, as part of the 30 June Foster Family Day.
The program, held at Zonguldak Police House, was attended by Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Zonguldak Provincial Director of Family and Social Services Mehmet Türkmen Köse, city and district dignitaries, foster families and the children.
The Value of Homes Built with Love Was Emphasized Once More
During the program organized as part of the 30 June Foster Family Day, the significance of foster families in children’s development, the place of family homes in their lives and initiatives taken to strengthen social solidarity were evaluated.
Coming together with foster parents and children in the program, dignitaries listened to their feelings and thoughts showing close interest to the families. The program, marked by warm and heartfelt moments, highlighted the message that every home built with love has the power to transform a child's future.
In his address, Governor Hacıbektaşoğlu stated that becoming a foster family is an act of conscience, compassion, and humanity, and thanked all institutions, foster families, and everyone who contributed to the program.
Rector Özölçer: “Foster Families are the Strongest Representation of Love and Hope”
In his remarks following the program, Rector Prof. Dr. Özölçer stated the following:
“A foster family is one of the most valuable examples of social solidarity and social responsibility, providing children who need love, compassion, and security with the opportunity to grow up in a warm family environment. Bringing hope into a child's life and offering them a safe home and a future filled with love is among the most meaningful responsibilities one can undertake. On the occasion of this meaningful program, I would like to express my gratitude to our Governor, Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu, and to our Provincial Director of Family and Social Services, Mehmet Türkmen Köse, for their efforts to raise public awareness about foster families. I also extend my sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the organization and successful implementation of this program.
My greatest thanks go to our devoted foster families who have opened their hearts to our children and touched their lives with love. The selflessness, compassion, and sense of responsibility they demonstrate represent one of the finest examples of a strong society and a strong family structure. As Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, we will continue to support every initiative that contributes to strengthening our children, our young people, and the institution of the family, in line with our human-centered understanding of social responsibility. On this occasion, I celebrate 30 June Foster Family Day and extend my gratitude to all our foster families, with the hope of a stronger society where love, solidarity, and sharing continue to flourish.
