Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer attended the “İlim Yayma Awards Internationalization Strategy Workshop,” which aims to contribute to Türkiye’s higher education internationalization vision and the strengthening of scientific production capacity.
Held in Istanbul, the workshop brought together the President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and rectors from various universities across Türkiye. The discussions focused on internationalization in higher education, increasing the global visibility of scientific output, and further strengthening Türkiye’s academic capacity and its engagement with the world.

In his opening remarks, YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar emphasized that the workshop, organized by the İlim Yayma Foundation, which makes significant contributions to Türkiye’s academic and intellectual life, is of great importance for the higher education system. He stated that the ideas and proposals presented during the workshop would contribute significantly to making the İlim Yayma Awards a stronger international brand and to increasing the global visibility of Türkiye’s scientific and academic achievements.
Internationalization in Higher Education and Scientific Impact Discussed
The workshop comprehensively addressed strategies for increasing the international visibility of universities, supporting high-quality scientific research, strengthening academic collaborations, and contributing to Türkiye’s science diplomacy.
