Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) has been entitled to receive three internationally recognized standards as a result of its consistent and systematic efforts in the fields of quality and accreditation.
BEUN completed the certificate renewal process of TS EN ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System), ISO 21001:2018 (Educational Organizations Management System), and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 (Information Security Management System) successfully as of 1 November 2025.
As a result of the systematic efforts in the fields of quality management, educational services, and information security, BEUN’s compliance with international standards has been recertified. While the renewed TS EN ISO 9001:2015 certificate verifies the continuity of the quality management in the university’s institutional processes, ISO 21001:2018 standard demonstrates that student-focused education and educational services are carried out in accordance with the international standards. ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certificate has once again certified the efficiency of the university in providing security for the information resources and safe and sustainable information services.
Strengthening its quality focused institutional structure, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University proved its ability to carry out the processes of quality security, institutional sustainability and continuous improvement in higher education on the international levels through renewed certificates.

In his remarks, the Rector of BEUN Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer emphasized the significance of accreditation for the universities and added:
“Quality and accreditation process at universities makes the continuous improvement in all fields from education and information security to administrative structures and institutional sustainability a requirement. The fact that we were entitled to receive TS EN ISO 9001, ISO 21001, and ISO/IEC 27001 standards as Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University is a clear sign that we carry out institutional processes in a systematic, transparent, and monitorable way. I express my thanks to all academic and administrative staff for their dedicated work and contributions. It is only possible through the efforts of our colleagues to have the quality culture and make it continuous in our institution. We aim to maintain information security and service quality at the highest level while strengthening student-focused educational approach and continue working with a management philosophy that is based on the expectations of the stakeholders.”
