Qualified Workforce Initiative From BEUN University-Sector Collaboration

Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) signed a “Vocational Training Courses Protocol within the scope of the Qualified Workforce Development Program” in cooperation with the Zonguldak Provincial Directorate of the Turkish Employment Agency, the Zonguldak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZTSO), and BIM United Stores.

The ceremony held at the Secate Hall at the Rectorate building was attended by BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Zonguldak Provincial Director of the Turkish Employment Agency Okan Şentürk, and Financial and Administrative Manager of BIM United Stores Ayhan Sarı.

A model through education to employment

It is aimed to train participants according to the need of the sector through vocational courses as part of the program and provide them with the opportunity to be employed. It is also stated that the program will nor only enhance their professional capabilities but also give them the chance to join workforce ready and well-established.

Public, university and private sector collaboration is strengthened

It was emphasized that this protocol is a concrete example of the strong collaboration among public institutions, universities, and private sector. It was also stated that this model will take on a significant role in raising qualified human resources needed by the local economy.

“We are glad to implement another protocol in collaboration with our university, Zonguldak Provincial Director of the Turkish Employment Agency, Zonguldak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and BIM United Stores. I would like to thank all stakeholders who contributed to the process. Collaboration among public institutions, private sector, and universities is one of the most significant ways to raise qualified workforce. This protocol is a reflection of this understanding. It is aimed at joining participants in the professional life well established. I hope this protocol will be beneficial to our university city, and country.”
