Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) 2025-2026 Academic Year Faculty of Pharmacy Graduation Ceremony was held with pride and enthusiasm. Pharmacists of the future, who will take on significant responsibilities in protection and improvement of human health, experienced the joy of taking their diplomas after years of intensive education.
The ceremony held at Sezai Karakoç Cultural Center was attended by BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Bekir Hakan Bakkal and Prof. Drf. Servet Karasu, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Zehra Safi Öz, Head of the Zonguldak Chamber of Pharmacists Esra Geyikli, senate members, academic and administrative staff, students and families.
The program began with a moment of silence in memory of the nation's revered martyrs and the singing of the Turkish National Anthem.
Emotional Speech from Faculty Valedictorian Turan
Completing the Faculty of Pharmacy as the valedictorian, Buran Furkan Turan shared his thoughts and feelings in his speech on behalf of all graduating students. Emphasizing that they started university with different dreams and goals, Turan stated that they went through an intense educational program and he was happy to be rewarded for years of education. Highlighting that his family was the biggest support throughout his journey, Turan thanked them for believing in him. Expressing his gratitude to the Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer for his support in the graduation ceremony, Turan also thanked the academics who shared their experiences in his university years.
Dean Safi Öz: “We Raise Individuals Who Will Practice the Profession with Science, Conscience, and Responsibility”
Following the Valedictorian speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Zehra Safi Öz made evaluations on the academic activities, success, and qualified human resources of the faculty, and it created. Emphasizing the significance of pharmacy for human health, Prof. Dr. Safi Öz stated that students were equipped not only with academic knowledge but also a scientific perspective and sense of social responsibility. Expressing her gratitude to Rector of Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer for his contributions to the faculty, Safi Öz congratulated the graduates and wished them success.

In his remarks on the significance of the day, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated the following:
“As you all know, graduation ceremonies are not just the end of the education. On the contrary, they are the turning points for the new future. As Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, we are proud to have raised tens of thousands of graduates as a well-established university. We are pleased to send off valuable graduates to their professional lives. Throughout your professional lives, take great names of science and wisdom as your guide. Take Hafsa Sultan’s sense of service and dedication of Prof. Dr. Remziye Hisar, the first woman chemist of the Republic as an example. Learn about, read, and understand Razi, İbn Baytâr, and Ethem Pertev, a pioneer in Turkish pharmacy. Never give up! I congratulate all the graduates and wish them health, success, and happiness.
Turan Hammered His Name into the Ceremonial Log
Following the speeches, the valedictorian of the Faculty of Pharmacy for the 2025–2026 Academic Year, Burak Furkan Turan, hammered a plaque bearing his name into the graduation log in the presence of his family, leaving his achievement as a lasting mark in the history of the University. As part of the program, plaques and certificates of achievement were presented to faculty valedictorian Burak Furkan Turan, second-place graduate Yağmur Eskicioğlu, and third-place graduate Kamile İmran Çelik.
Students Celebrated Their Graduation by Tossing Their Caps
As the program continued, symbolic diplomas were presented by academics to students graduating from the Faculty of Pharmacy. This was followed by the graduation oath ceremony where students took an oath to remain committed to ethical principles, respect towards people, and professional responsibilities. Following the oath ceremony, students celebrated their graduation with great enthusiasm and excitement by tossing their caps into the air and sharing their joy with their families, friends, and academics. The program, which concluded with commemorative photographs, created unforgettable memories for the graduates and their families.
