Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Faculty of Science and Aerobiology Application and Research Center, supported by TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) 2237-A program, was successfully held at the Faculty of Science.

The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and General Secretary Prof. Dr. Zehra Safi Öz, and the Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Kadir Demir attended the opening ceremony.

The ceremony started with a moment of silence in memory of our martyrs and singing of the National Anthem. And the Director of Aerobiology Application and Research Center, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şenol Alan gave the opening speech. Alan expressed his gratitude for the Aerobiology Summer School and thanked the academic and administrative staff who participated in the process.  He also thanked the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, for his support.

Rector Özölçer stated in his speech that aerobiology is not just about biology but a discipline that interacts with fields from medicine and engineering to environmental sciences and ecology. Pointing out that microorganisms in the atmosphere hold great significance for agricultural production, biological diversity, the environment, and public health, Prof. Dr. Özölçer stated that the summer school not only provides young researchers with theoretical information but also an illuminating and inspiring experience. Noting that information gains value when shared, and science only advances when produced, Rector Özölçer said he believed wholeheartedly that this program will add value to the scientific capacity of our country. At the end of his talk, Prof. Dr. Özölçer thanked the President of TÜBİTAK, Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın, the Aerobiology Application and Research Center members, academics, and all the personnel involved in the process.

The ceremony continued with the delivery of a Certificate of Appreciation for the academic teaching in the program.

The opening ceremony ended with a commemorative photo. The BEUN Second Aerobiology Summer School trainings will be delivered between September 2, 2025, and September 5, 2025.
