Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) held yet another event that contributed to its students in a social and cultural sense. In the event organized on the Farabi Campus as part of October 1, International Coffee Day, students were served Turkish coffee, and they shared pleasant memories through blissful conversations.
BEUN Rector, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu and Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu, Secretary General, Prof. Dr. Zehra Safi Öz, academic and administrative staff, and many students attended the event.
Rector Özölçer: “Our campuses should make room not just for classes, but for social and cultural activities”
Rector Prof. Dr. Özölçer, who came together with students and celebrated International Coffee Day, held conversations and took photos with them. Rector Özölçer stated the following in his talk on the significance of the day:
“Universities are not just rooms where information is passed on, but places where students can make new memories and experiences. At Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, we care about providing students with an atmosphere where they can feel happy and peaceful as well as develop themselves academically. Coming together with our students, having conversations with them, and living this day together through the occasion of October 1 International Coffee Day is a source of happiness for us. We will continue to have such events where we strengthen the bonds with our students, remembering the saying “A cup of coffee is worth 40 years”. I would like to thank all my colleagues who contributed to the organization of this event.”
Great Interest from Students
Turkish coffee served to students at the stand on campus attracted great attention from students. Having conversations with their friends, students stated that they had a chance to take a break from the lessons. While spending time together with the students from various departments, many students expressed their wish for more such events.
