Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) is launching a major project with a budget of 30 million TL under the TÜBİTAK 4003-T National Technology Workshops program, led by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

It is aimed to provide young people with an opportunity to master in the field of science and technology. Expected to contribute to raising qualified human resources to develop national technologies and strengthen the entrepreneurship ecosystem, National Technology Workshop inspired the students of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University interested in technology.

It is aimed to create well equipped production areas where students can prepare for the national and international science and technology competitions, use technical equipment and consumables efficiently, and carry out scientific and technological projects through student clubs under the 4003-T National Technology Workshops program.

A strong infrastructure will be established where students can transform their ideas into technology through National Technology Workshop. As part of the workshop, it is aimed to support project development, transform innovative ideas into products, and develop sustainable projects that contribute to the National Technology Advance.

National Technology Workshops support the project development process holistically by providing the teams that enter the science and technology competitions with the opportunity to obtain the necessary machines, gadgets, and consumables through workshops established in science centers supported by TÜBİTAK.

Rector Özölçer: “BEUN will strengthen its active role in the National Technology Advance”

BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated the pleasure and pride they have for realizing National Technology Workshop project under the university and added:

“It is significant for us that our university is supported through such comprehensive and strategical project under the National Technology Advance. Thanks to the National Technology Workshop, our students will be educated not only through technological knowledge, but through the application-based production culture. They will also have a strong and well-equipped infrastructure where they can transform their ideas into real projects.

The only way to have a say in modern science and technology is through integrating young people into the research, design, production, and innovation process actively. This workshop will be a center that feeds the entrepreneurship culture and strengthens the teamwork, promotes interdisciplinary studies.

We have started the renovation of the workshop as part of the project. We aim to complete the renovation process in April and get the technology teams to start working there. We carry out the process meticulously to enable students to make use of the resources.

The support of machines, gadgets, technical infrastructure and human resources will accelerate the research capacity of our university.

I would like to extend my gratitude to the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his visionary leadership in National Technology Advance, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, President of the TÜBİTAK Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın, and all institutions and stakeholders who contributed to this process. I would also like to thank academic and administrative staff who worked on the preparation, application, and implementation of the project.

As Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, we will continue to contribute to the development goals of our country through science, technology, and innovation, support the potential of the young people on the top level, and move the local projects up to the national and international platforms.”
