
“İhtisas Akademisi’26 Zonguldak” program, organized with the participation of Mustafa Varank, Minister of Industry and Technology of the 66th Government, and coordinated by the Türkiye Youth Foundation, was held with strong participation, hosted by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University.
The center of science and technology in the Western Black Sea, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University hosted a meaningful meeting. “İhtisas Akademisi’26 Zonguldak” program, organized by TÜGVA was held at Sezai Karakoç Conference Hall on BEUN Farabi Campus.
The program, which was hosted by BEUN, was attended by Mustafa Varank, Minister of Industry and Technology of the 66th Government and AK Party Bursa Member of Parliament, Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu, AK Party Zonguldak Member of Parliament Ahmet Çolakoğlu, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Bekir Hakan Bakkal and Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu, Zonguldak Provincial Head of AK Party Mustafa Çağlayan, Deputy Head of TÜGVA İsmail Hakkı Karagüzeli city and district dignitaries, academics, and many students.
Varank: “Türkiye is among the world’s leaders in defense industry”
The program started with Qur’an Recitation, singing of the National Anthem, and the screening of the introductory video. Deputy Head of TÜGVA İsmail Hakkı Karagüzel gave the opening speech. Following Karagüzel’s speech, Mustafa Varank took the floor and highlighted Türkiye’s efforts in the direction of independence in defense industry and energy, in his speech. He emphasized that these accomplishments will be used to provide justice in the world and be a hope for the oppressed nations. Varank stated that the vision of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shared in 2004 Defense Industry Executive Committee meeting led to concrete outcomes. He also added “We have a Türkiye, which can produce and export its own industrial products for defense while reaching up to world leadership in some areas.” Varank noted that foreign source dependency decreased in a ratio more than 80%.
At the end of his speech, Varank thanked Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu, the BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, and TÜGVA community. Following his speech, Varank continued with the Q&A session moderated by Yusuf İslam Karakurt, Zonguldak Provincial Head of TÜGVA. Answering students’ questions, Varank shared his experiences from his years at the university to being a Minister.
The program concluded with presentation of the gifts and a commemorative group photo. Following the event, Varank paid a visit to Cyber Homeland Office. Mustafa Varank and city dignitaries came together with students, were informed about the initiatives, and extended their best wishes.
