At the 26th Education Achievement Awards Ceremony organized by the MÜSİAD Karadeniz Ereğli Branch, a plaque of appreciation was presented to Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN), on behalf of the University for its contributions to education, industry, healthcare, and regional development.
The ceremony, held at the Karadeniz Ereğli Hüseyin Tatoğlu Cultural Center, was attended by Karadeniz Ereğli District Governor Fatih Yılmaz, Alaplı District Governor Selçuk Köksal, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, MÜSİAD Deputy Chairman Ahmet Doğan Alperen, MÜSİAD Karadeniz Ereğli Branch Chairman Kemal Gülbay, representatives of the business community, members of the education sector, and guests.
The program began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem. During the ceremony, a total of 120 students who ranked among the top achievers from 40 schools—22 affiliated with the Karadeniz Ereğli District Directorate of National Education, 9 with the Alaplı District Directorate of National Education, and 9 with the Akçakoca District Directorate of National Education—as well as 10 students who achieved success in TÜBİTAK and TEKNOFEST competitions, were presented with awards.
A Meaningful Ceremony Celebrating Educational Excellence
In his speech, MÜSİAD Karadeniz Ereğli Branch Chairman Kemal Gülbay stated that they have taken great pride in recognizing the determination and achievements of young people through the Education Achievement Awards Ceremony, which has been organized since 1996. In addition to students who distinguished themselves through academic excellence, young people who successfully represented Türkiye in scientific project and technology development competitions also received awards during the program.
Rector Özölçer Presented Plaques to Outstanding Students
As part of the program, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer presented plaques to the award-winning students and congratulated them on their achievements.

During the ceremony, MÜSİAD Karadeniz Ereğli Branch Chairman Kemal Gülbay presented a plaque of appreciation to Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer in recognition of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University's contributions to the educational, scientific, research, and regional development of Zonguldak and Karadeniz Ereğli. It was emphasized that the University's initiatives—ranging from projects driving regional development to university-industry collaboration, healthcare investments, scientific research, and technology and innovation studies—have made significant contributions to the development of the region.
Rector Özölçer: “The Young People We Honor Today Will Shape the Century of Türkiye”
Following the program, Rector Özölçer made the following remarks:
“I am delighted to be here today with our young people whose achievements make us proud. I wholeheartedly congratulate all of our students who have demonstrated outstanding academic success and earned distinctions in some of our country's most prestigious organizations, such as TÜBİTAK and TEKNOFEST. I consider this valuable event, which has been organized by the MÜSİAD Karadeniz Ereğli Branch for nearly three decades, to be of great importance. Such programs play a vital role in recognizing the efforts of our young people, making their achievements visible, and encouraging them to pursue new goals. I firmly believe that every investment made in education and our youth is an investment in the future of our country.
I would like to thank Mr. Kemal Gülbay, Chairman of the MÜSİAD Karadeniz Ereğli Branch, and the entire MÜSİAD family for presenting me with this meaningful award. I accept this recognition not only on my own behalf but also on behalf of our University's distinguished academic and administrative staff and our dear students.
As Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, with the responsibility that comes from our century-long history, we remain committed to carrying out initiatives that contribute to the development of our city and region in the fields of education, healthcare, technology, information technologies, and industry.
