Rector Özölçer: “Spring Festivals Contribute to the Sociocultural Development of Our Students Through Cultural and Arts Activities”

In his remarks on the concerts held within the scope of the International Science and Youth Week, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated the following:

The cultural and arts activities held as part of the 29th International Science and Youth Week created a heartwarming solidarity atmosphere on the campus. Valuable works performed by “Akademinin Sesi” chorus and ‘Akademik Orkestra’ reflected the unifying power of music, universal language of the arts, and the cultural richness of the university.

Universities are significant science centers where arts, culture, and social solidarity develop. We believe that students’ being in touch with arts as well as their scientific studies, being a part of cultural activities, and developing their social lives are significant.

Especially the performance of “ Akademinin Sesi” chorus consisting of academic and administrative staff, is a reflection of strong sense of belonging and solidarity. Likewise, the “Akademik Orkestra” consisting of academics and students of State Conservatory treated the audience to a musical feast.

I would like to extend my thanks to especially Director of State Conservatory Prof. Dr. İlker Kömürcü, academics, students and those who contributed to these meaningful concerts. I wholeheartedly believe that this joyful atmosphere with the enthusiasm of the youth and beauty of arts will add value to the cultural life at our university.”
