Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) has achieved another significant success that enhances its international visibility and academic strength in scientific publishing. The Medical Journal of Western Black Sea, published by BEUN, has been indexed by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), one of the world's prestigious indexes featuring high-quality, peer-reviewed open-access academic journals.

Being indexed in DOAJ, which is regarded as one of the key indicators of quality, transparency, and accessibility in scientific publishing, will strengthen the international academic visibility of the Medical Journal of Western Black Sea while also making a significant contribution to ensuring that the scientific studies published in the journal reach a broader global audience of researchers.

Its Scientific Quality Has Been Internationally Recognized

First published in 2017, the Medical Journal of Western Black Sea continues its publication life as an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. Published in both Turkish and English, the journal is issued three times a year in April, August, and December. Featuring original research articles, reviews, case reports, and letters to the editor in the fields of basic medical sciences, clinical medical sciences, and surgical sciences, the journal aims to contribute to the advancement of medical science by adhering to the principles of scientific ethics, impartiality, and academic quality. The Medical Journal of Western Black Sea, which is currently indexed in TR Dizin, has now also been accepted by DOAJ. This development is regarded as an important indication that the journal's publication policy, scientific standards, and editorial processes comply with international standards.
