Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) brought the latest developments in the field of mathematics to the attention of the academic world with the workshop titled “Mathematical Modeling, Analysis and Simulation of Real-World Problems”.

BEUN Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kuyoğlu, Kilimli Mayor Kamil Altun, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Zehra Safi Öz, academics, researchers, and students attended the opening of the workshop, for the second time, at the Doç. Dr. Ali Arslan Conference Hall on Farabi Campus.

The program started with a moment of silence and singing of the National Anthem. The students of the State Conservatory held a musical performance. Following the musical performance, Director of Graduate School of Applied and Natural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Fikret Gölgeleyen, talked about the relation between chaos theory and mathematics and emphasized the significance of the program. At the end of his speech, he expressed his gratitude to BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, who has made great contributions to the organization of the workshop. He also thanked prominent BEUN mathematician Prof. Dr. Masahiro Yamamoto, and METU academic Prof. Dr. Marat Akhmet, along with all attendees, for their contributions.

Following Prof. Dr. Gölgeleyen’s speech, Prof. Dr. Masahiro Yamamoto talked about the significance of the workshop and thanked everyone who contributed to the organization of this event. After Yamamoto’s opening remarks, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu stated the following in his opening speech:

“In a century where science and technology are transforming rapidly, mathematical modeling, analysis, and simulation techniques not only form the cornerstone of academic research but also play a significant role in solving the complex problems of the real world. From industrial processes to biomedical systems, from energy management to environmental problems, the solutions offered through a mathematical perspective are of great importance. The aim of this workshop, held for the second time, is to share the latest developments by bringing academics, researchers, and young scientists together under one roof, form new research areas, and foster interdisciplinary collaborations. In this respect, I would like to state that this workshop is more than a mere scientific meeting; it is a valuable platform where diverse perspectives come together through collective intellect. With this in mind, I would like to express my gratitude to our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer for his support in this workshop and thank the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, the Department of Mathematics, the organizing committee, and all institutions and stakeholders for their dedicated efforts. I would also like to thank wholeheartedly the esteemed speakers who have enriched our workshop with their knowledge and participation, our valuable guests, and the students. I hope that this workshop will be scientifically productive, open doors for new collaborations, inspire young researchers, and be a successful event that contributes to the scientific community.”

Following Prof. Dr. Kutoğlu’s remarks, the opening program concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to contributors and a commemorative photo.
