
Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Karadeniz Ereğli Faculty of Tourism 2025-2026 Academic General Assembly Meeting was held.
The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, the Dean of Karadeniz Ereğli Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Avni Yıldız, vice deans, and academics attended the meeting held at Faculty of Maritime on Kepez Campus.
Dean Prof. Dr. Avni Yıldız gave a presentation on the academic activities in 2024-2025 academic year. Prof. Dr. Yıldız talked about the initiatives to be taken during the 2025-2026 academic year, academic year plan, the number of academic and administrative staff and the students, completed and ongoing scientific and social projects, and academic studies. Yıldız also talked about planned academic projects as well as social and cultural activities for the students and concluded his words thanking Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer who has always supported the Karadeniz Ereğli Faculty of Tourism.
Rector Özölçer: “Our Tourism Faculty stands out with its academic success and social contributions”
Following Prof. Dr. Avni Yıldız’s presentation, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer evaluated the 2024-2025 Academic year. In his speech, Rector Özölçer wished that 2025-2026 academic year spring term would be beneficial for the Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University family and emphasized the importance of qualified academic studies to be made by academic units in the fields of health, engineering, humanities and social sciences as well as tourism, culture, and arts.
Rector Prof. Dr. Özölçer stated that Karadeniz Ereğli Faculty of Tourism is in a significant position with its social and cultural initiatives taken in collaboration with respective sectors as well as its academic success. He stated that he is proud of the fact that Department of Tourism Management, Department of Tour Guiding, and Tourism Management Master’s Program with Thesis are awarded Accessible Program Award and the students achieved great success with their projects within the scope of ÜNİDES.
Highlighting that students of faculty of tourism should be prepared for the future digesting the cultural, historical, artistic and touristic values of the city while adopting innovative approaches that focus on sustainable education in the faculty, Rector Özölçer stated that the number of qualified academic studies should increase, academic collaborations should be strengthened and more active roles should be adopted in national and international projects. Emphasizing the contributions of the faculty to the cultural and historical values of the city, Rector Özölçer expressed his thanks to academic and administrative staff who contributed to this development.
