International Success from the Students of Zonguldak Vocational School

The short film “Pay”, produced with contributions from the students of Zonguldak Vocational School at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN), was awarded an honorable mention at the “Athens International Art Film Festival”, organized in Greece.

Dr. Abdullah Özdemir starred and directed the short film, which addresses social themes in a simple and impactful way. An academic member of the Department of Sociology at the Teoman Duralı Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Asst. Prof. Dr. Figen Uzar Özdemir was featured in the film. At the same time, students from the Department of Radio and Television Programming, Poyraz Yücel served as the cinematographer, and Baran Çontay handled the lighting design.

“Pay” drew attention at the festival, being recognized by the jury as a successful work and receiving positive feedback from the audience.

Commenting on the success, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer said:

“Such achievements of our students highlight both the quality of our education and the creativity of our students. This proud achievement of Zonguldak Vocational School demonstrates not only the value our university places on arts and culture but also the remarkable potential of our students.
