Seven students from Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) completed their internships in St. Rochus Hospital in Costrop-Rauxel, Germany, between 16 August and 14 September 2025.
Within the framework of the collaboration agreement signed by Castrop-Rauxel German-Greek-Turkish Partnership Association (DGT-CR e.V.), St. Rochus Hospital, and BEUN in 2023, the trainee students became the third group to go to Castrop-Rauxel form BEUN. The students from the Departments of Nursing, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Health Sciences had the chance to improve their professional skills working with the specialists in various departments of the hospital, including the emergency department.
The pedagogical coordinator of SLG St. Paulus GmbH, Marina Majnaric, emphasized the significance of the program and added:
“This international Exchange program has been a constant in our clinic through great efforts. Young professionals not only share their professional knowledge, but also gain an intercultural awareness. This process contributes to the development of friendships between countries and results in stronger collaborations.”
The Exchange program, organized within the framework of sister cities in 2023, resulted in a permanent connection thanks to the ongoing communication among participants.
The Rector of BEUN, İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, stated the following, commenting on the program:
“We regard the international collaborations extremely significant. Such programs both improve the professional experience of the students and strengthen the academic collaborations. I congratulate the students who took part in the program and thank all the institutions that supported this vision.”
