According to the data of Web of Science (WoS) 2025, six of the scientific publications that belong to faculty members of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) were in the “Highly Cited Paper” list. One publication was listed both as a “Highly Cited Paper” and a “Hot Paper”.
Three of the said publications are directly affiliated with Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University and 2 of them were solely written by BEUN academics. Other studies were published within the scope of academic collaborations made with national and international universities. These studies, which were highly cited in a short time period, demonstrated the international scientific production power of BEUN academics.
These studies published in highly effective journals in various disciplines are a clear sign of BEUN’s research-development focused management approach, qualified academic staff, and academic policies that encourage scientific production. This success shows the steady increase in BEUN’s global academic visibility.

In his remarks on this significant success, the Rector of BEUN Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer emphasized that this result is a natural outcome of a vision that prioritizes scientific production and strong research infrastructure and added:
“Publications marked as “Highly Cited Paper” and “Hot Paper” by an internationally renowned index such as Web of Science, shows our university’s scientific production level. These studies made with an interdisciplinary approach and through strong collaborations move BEUN’s academic visibility one step further.
