International Congress of Management, Economics, and Business (ICMEB’26) hosted by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN), brought together distinguished economics and young researchers in a significant academic meeting centered on scientific production, interdisciplinary interaction, and the vision of sustainable development.

The congress was held at Doç. Dr. Ali Arslan Conference Hall and attended by the BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Zehra Safi Öz, Senate members, academics from various universities, researchers, and students.

The program began with a moment of silence for our honorable martyrs and singing of the National Anthem. Following the National Anthem, the Dean of BEUN Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ferda Çakmak gave his opening speech.

Prof. Dr. Çakmak: “ICMEB’26 Will Support Scientific Richness in Various Disciplines”

Çakmak stated that the congress is not just an academic meeting but a significant organization that will contribute to the common mind and scientific production, and added:

“We are glad to hold the third of the International Management, Economics, and Business Congress. Esteemed academics from various universities, researchers, and students will share their valuable insight during these two days, so new ideas are expected to form thanks to interdisciplinary interaction. I would like to extend my gratitude to the Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, who supported this organization. I hope this congress will be beneficial for everyone involved and wish them success all.

Rector Özölçer: The Key to Sustainable Development Is Science”

In his remarks, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated the following:

“We are gathered here today with scientists who are experts in their fields and valuable students with their excitement to add to science. As members of ancient civilization, we know that societies rise with the works, ideas, and masterpieces of scholars. I hope that visionary studies will be shared in this two-day congress on the fields of economics, business, finance, and political sciences. Minds meeting in various disciplines will lead to new perspectives. Today the world economy is transforming. Global crises, geopolitical breaks, changes in energy policies, and digital transformation reshapes the fields of management and economy. In this process, a stronger economy and sustainable development goals are more significant. The most important element that determines the fate of countries is the capacity to produce knowledge. As universities, we need to do more than just analyze the current situation and produce solutions to the needs of the new age. We need to develop permanent solutions to current problems and make scientific contributions to the public. Before I conclude my words, I would like to thank all valuable academics and valuable researchers who will contribute to the congress with their presentations. I congratulate our students on their interest in such meaningful events. I hope this congress will not be a program where papers are presented but be a scientific platform where new projects flourish and young researchers are inspired.”

Congress Continued with the Presentation of the Certificates

Following Rector Özölçer’s speech, the organizing committee of the congress presented the guest speakers with their certificates of appreciation. The congress continued with the presentations of Prof Dr. Ayhan Orhan, Prof. Dr. Selçuk Koç, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgür Bayram Soylu from Kocaeli University Faculty of Political Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Arzu Tay Bayramoğlu from BEUN Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.

Face-to-face and online sessions will be held on fields such as workforce market, artificial intelligence, developments in the mining sector, exportation, occupational health, population, global climate change, international relations, and digital transformation on the congress held on 16-17 February.
