Hosted by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN), the beneficiaries of the flats to be constructed in Zonguldak within the scope of the “Homeownership for Türkiye- Housing Project of the Century”, implemented by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and the Housing Development Administration of Türkiye (TOKİ), were determined through a lottery draw conducted in the presence of a notary public.
The program was held at Sezai Karakoç Cultural Center with wide participation and attended by Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Hasan Suver, Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu, AK Party Zonguldak Member of Parliament Saffet Bozkurt, the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, Provincial Head of AK Party Mustafa Çağlayan, city and district dignitaries and many citizens.
The program began with the moment of silence and singing of the National Anthem followed by the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s message. A short film on the projects realized by TOKİ was also screened.
Following the screening, Deputy President of the Housing Development Administration of Türkiye Dursun Baştürk gave the opening speech. In his speech, he highlighted that many permanent structures were built under the leadership of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and added “We have completed many comprehensive urban transformation projects in many provinces of Türkiye. As TOKİ, we have built 1,750,000 housing units in 81 provinces as of today. We will build new units in Zonguldak. 45,900 citizens in total including the central district applied to the project. I hope it will be auspicious for the beneficiaries. Citizens who were not drawn in the lottery should not be discouraged, we will continue with our projects.”
Following Baştürk, Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu gave a speech and emphasized that this lottery draw is a meaningful meeting for the citizens. Highlighting that following the February 6 earthquakes under the leadership of the President and the coordination of Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, a strong rebuilding process has begun. Governor Hacıbektaşoğlu stated that TOKİ has a wholesome urbanization approach with its social facilities and infrastructure. Noting that it is a strong indicator of an organization strength to complete 455,000 housing units, Hacıbektaşoğlu stated that it is also reflected in the projects carried out in Zonguldak.
Speaking after the Governor Hacıbektaşoğlu, Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Hasan Suver wished this lottery draw to be auspicious for Zonguldak and the country and conveyed greetings and regards from the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum. Highlighting the reality of earthquake in Türkiye, Suver said, “Tens of thousands of earthquakes occur each year in our country. TOKİ made a name in the world with its safe and strong housing units. Having built hundreds of houses in a short time despite the geographical structure of Zonguldak is the most concrete sign of this big organization.
The lottery draws began following the opening speeches. As a result of the draw, 120 beneficiaries in Alaplı, 100 in Çaycuma, 300 in Devrek, 100 in Gökçebeyi 250 in Ereğli, 300 in Kilimli, 94 in Kozlu, 60 in Beycuma, 100 in Çaydeğirmeni, 38 in Gülüç, 100 in Kandilli, 47 in Karapınar, 100 in Nebioğlu, 63 in Ormanlı and 100 in Perşembe received their homes.
In his remarks on the subject, the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer said, “I would like to extend my gratitude to our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. I would also like to express my gratitude to the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum, and representatives of the Ministry. I also extend my thanks to Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu, who put in efforts devotedly in this process, Zonguldak Governorship, Housing Development Administration, and all stakeholders. I wish their new homes will be auspicious for the beneficiaries.”
