"Healthy Türkiye Century Zonguldak Health Administratives Meeting" was held at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) with the participation of Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu. During the meeting, BEUN's and Zonguldak's current healthcare capacity and their strategic goals for the upcoming period were evaluated.
As part of a series of programs in Zonguldak, Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu visited BEUN on the occasion of the meeting. A welcoming ceremony was held for Minister Memişoğlu in front of the Rectorate Building at Farabi Campus. Following the ceremony, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer hosted Minister Prof. Dr. Memişoğlu in the Rector’s Office.
Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu; AK Party Zonguldak Members of Parliament Ahmet Çolakoğlu, Muammer Avcı and Saffet Bozkurt; AK Party Zonguldak Provincial Chairman Mustafa Çağlayan; and Zonguldak Provincial Health Director Specialist Dr. Mustafa Özkan Gün were also present during the visit.
Minister Prof. Dr. Memişoğlu: “We Will Continue to Strengthen Our Health Infrastructure Both in Our University and in Zonguldak”
Making evaluations within the scope of the meeting, Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu stated the following:
“Today, I am very pleased to be in Zonguldak and at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, one of the most well-established academic institutions in our country. The work our University carried out in many fields from engineering to education, from health to art and sports clearly demonstrates that it holds an important position among our higher education institutions. Especially its infrastructure strength, academic accumulation and regional contribution in the field of health are quite remarkable. In line with our Healthy Türkiye Century vision, we continue our efforts to further strengthen the health capacity of our cities. We are here to evaluate the services carried out in Zonguldak on-site, to identify needs and to take solution-oriented steps. On this occasion, I would like to thank our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer for the valuable work he carries out at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. I wish success and convenience in their work to our University’s esteemed academic and administrative staff, all our healthcare professionals who perform their duties devotedly, and the valuable students of the BEUN family.”
Within the scope of the visit, Minister Memişoğlu also signed the university’s memorial book.
Rector Özölçer: “With Our Hospital and Faculty, We Add Value to Our Region’s Health Infrastructure”
Making a statement within the scope of the visit, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer expressed his pleasure at hosting Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University and stated:

As Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, we carry our academic achievements at national and international levels further every day. In addition to our scientific productivity, we contribute to the multifaceted development of our students through social, cultural, historical, artistic and sportive projects that we implement in cooperation with public institutions and the private sector. Following the meeting at the Rector’s Office, the “Healthy Türkiye Century Zonguldak Health Administrators Meeting” was held in the Senate Hall under the chairmanship of Minister Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu. The meeting was attended by Zonguldak Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu; BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer; Zonguldak Provincial Health Director Specialist Dr. Mustafa Özkan Gün; BEUN Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Bekir Hakan Bakkal; Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Hande Aydemir; Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Prof. Dr. Baran Can Sağlam; BEUN Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Burak Bahadır; BEUN Oral and Dental Health Application and Research Center Prof. Dr. Murat Koçak; BEUN Obesity and Diabetes Application and Research Center Director Prof. Dr. Taner Bayraktaroğlu; hospital chief physicians and health administrators across the province. During the meeting, the activities carried out at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University and hospitals across the province, infrastructure works, maintenance and repair processes, health service capacity, numbers of patients and physicians, and planned projects were comprehensively evaluated.
