Rector Özölçer: “We prioritize quality and sustainability in scientific production”
In his remarks on BEUN’s success, the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer emphasized that the increase in the number of publications is a result of long-term academic planning and stated:
“We take scientific production not as a measurable target, but the main principle of our institutional development at our deep-rooted university. Over 40% increase in the number of publications in SCI, SCIE and AHCI indexes is a clear sign of dedicated work of our valuable academic staff and investments in research infrastructure. Thus, our goal is not just to increase the number of publications but release internationally appreciated studies that contribute to society and add value to national development. In this respect, we will continue to create qualified academic studies, increase project support and the number of interdisciplinary collaborations. I extend my gratitude to the President of Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar and family of CoHE for their support by encouraging research focused approach at universities. I wholeheartedly believe that this support contributes to the improvement in scientific capacity and enhances international competitiveness of our university. I extend my thanks to all academic members who contributed to this meaningful success. Qualified scientific studies strengthen the research vision of our university, increase our visibility on the national and international levels and thus set the base of this success. I wholeheartedly believe that this academic performance will continue in the upcoming period and wish our faculty members success in their endeavors.
