Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) participated in the Turkish Universities Education Fair in Tunisia, adding another one to its overseas promotional activities, as part of its internationalization vision. BEUN stand attracted great interest from Tunisian students who want to pursue higher education in Türkiye and was highly appreciated by prospective students.
BEUN Stand Attracted Attention of Prospective Students
Organized in Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, the fair featured strong engagement with the participation of 15 Turkish Universities. Organized for the fourth time by Maarif agency, this event contributed to strengthening the academic collaboration between Tunisia and Türkiye and demonstrated the interest in universities in Türkiye. During the event inaugurated by the Ambassador of Republic of Türkiye to Tunisia, Ahmet Misbah Demircan, Tunisian students had the chance to get to know educational opportunities in Türkiye.
Attending the fair for Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, Vice Dean of BEUN Faculty of Theology Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hikmetullah Ertaş and faculty member of Department of Islamic Studies Asst. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sezer informed students about BEUN’s academic achievements, opportunities for the international students, departments and campus life. Prospective students had the chance to learn about the quality of education, social activities, and career opportunities.
BEUN representatives stated that Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University stands out with its deep-rooted history and strong academic infrastructure in their conversations with the prospective students and their families. It was emphasized that the university hosted more than 1500 international students from nearly 100 countries and graduates represent the university in various parts of Türkiye and the world.
Comprehensive Education and Support Opportunities for International Students
Representatives also highlighted the opportunities offered by BEUN to international students, noting that Turkish preparatory education is provided through a modern and innovative curriculum at the Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (Karaelmas TÖMER), which operates within the university. In addition, it was stated that students can benefit from scholarships provided by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) and have access to various accommodation options, particularly KYK dormitories.
The representatives also emphasized BEUN’s international and career-oriented opportunities, stating that through its 267 Erasmus+ agreements, the university offers students education and internship opportunities across Europe. They further noted that the Career Center provides one-on-one career counseling, sector meetings, and internship opportunities to help students make a strong start in their professional lives after graduation. In addition, visitors to the stand were informed that the Continuing Education Center supports students’ personal development through various courses and certificate programs, contributing to their competitive advantage in the job market after graduation.
Highlighting Zonguldak’s unique natural beauty in the Black Sea region, representatives stated that the city offers a safe and inspiring environment for students with its sea, greenery, and peaceful urban life. They emphasized that BEUN, with its campuses surrounded by these natural beauties, provides students not only with academic opportunities but also a rich university life in social, cultural, and sporting terms.

Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, in his evaluation of the fair, emphasized the importance of the university’s international promotion activities and stated:

Today, with more than 1,500 international students from nearly 100 countries, we take pride in contributing successful individuals to professional life among universities in Türkiye.
