
The founder of the Republic of Türkiye, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was commemorated on the 87th anniversary of his passing at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Farabi Campus with respect, gratitude, and longing.
BEUN Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu and Prof. Dr. Bekir Hakan Bakkal, and Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu, Secretary General Zehra Safi Öz, university senate members, academic and administrative staff, and many students attended the commemoration ceremony held in the ceremony area in front of the Prof. Dr. Amir Amirov Conference Hall on Farabi campus.
Before the ceremony, BEUN Hacı Mevlüt and Hacı Sabahat Hamzaoğlu kindergarten students placed carnations at the Atatürk bust. The ceremony started with the presentation of a wreath at the Atatürk Mausoleum. At 9.05, a moment of silence was held in honor of Mustafa Kemal’s sacred memory, and the Turkish flag was lowered to half-staff.
Following the moment of silence, the National Anthem was sung, led by the Asst. Prof. Dr. Cemalettin Baydağı, an academic member from the State Conservatory. Attendees experienced emotional moments during the ceremony and Atatürk was commemorated once again with respect, longing, and gratitude.
