The 11th Medical Career Days organized by the Turkish Medical Students’ Association (TurkMSIC) by the Bülent Ecevit Medical Students’ Association, hosted by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN), concluded after two days of scientific and professional sharing.
BEUN Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu, the Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Hande Aydemir, Advisor to Bülent Ecevit Medical Students’ Association Prof. Dr. Suat Hayri Uğurbaş, academic and administrative staff, and medical students attended the opening program held at Sezai Karakoç Cultural Center on 14-15 March, 2026.
Expert Academics Shared Their Experiences with Medical Students
Career planning sessions were held in many fields, mainly Surgical Sciences, Internal Sciences, and Basic Sciences during the event organized for all medical students all around Türkiye. During the program where experts shared their experiences, medical students had the chance to talk to the professors one-on-one and attained significant information.
On the first day of the event, Prof. Dr. Güldeniz Karadeniz Çakmak from BEUN Department of General Surgery, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İshak Özel Tekin from BEUN Department of Immunology, Prof. Dr. Eylem Sevinç from Karabük University Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Prof. Dr. Ferruh Yücel from Eskişehir Osmangazi University Department of Anatomy, and Prof. Dr. Kemal Uğurlu from the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery shared their professional experiences, talked about their career journeys, and answered students’ questions. Within the scope of the program, a Medical Ball was also organized on the same day in celebration of March 14 Medicine Day.
On the second day of the event, sessions were heldwith the participation of Prof. Dr. Kenan Karbeyaz from Eskişehir Osmangazi University Department of Forensic Medicine, Prof. Dr. Hilal Ayoğlu from BEUN Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation, and Prof. Dr. Haşim Hüsrevşahi from the Department of Pediatric Cardiology. Medical students came together with expert academicians and gained important insights into their career planning. Peer education sessions were also held within the program.
At the closing session, the Bülent Ecevit Medical Students’ Association, the National Medical Education Team, and the 11th Medical Career Days Project Team thanked all individuals and institutions, especially BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, for their support.

In his remarks on the TurkMSIC 11th Medical Career Days, the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated that such events that contribute to the professional development of medical students are significant and added:
“Qualified events such as TurkMSIC 11th Medical Career Days hosted by our university are significant for future physicians to broaden their horizon and make more informed decisions on their careers. The sharing of knowledge and experience by our expert academicians with our students makes a significant contribution to preparing future physicians for their professional lives in a stronger and more equipped manner. I sincerely congratulate all our students, especially the Bülent Ecevit Medical Students’ Association, who have shown great effort and dedication in organizing this meaningful event.
