Field visits within the scope of the accreditation process carried out by The Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of University Programs in Mathematical, Natural and Social Sciences (FEDEK) started at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University.

As part of the accreditation process, four undergraduate programs namely Department of English Language and Literature at Teoman Duralı Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Departments of Physics, Chemistry, and Molecular Biology and Genetics at Faculty of Science are being evaluated.

Rector Özölçer Met FEDEK Evaluation Team

Before the field visits, the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer received FEDEK Team Chair Prof. Dr. S. Seyhan Tükel and Co-chair İbrahim Yılmaz in his office.

FEDEK evaluation process and quality assurance system was discussed at the meeting and Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer emphasized that the university embraced the quality based educational approach. Highlighting that accreditation process contributes to continuous development in higher education, Rector Özölçer wished success and ease to the FEDEK team.

Quality and Continuous Development

FEDEK evaluation team shared their observations of BEUN’s educational process, quality assurance approach, and continuous development. It is also stated that accreditation process contributes to the improvement of academic quality.

Meetings, interviews, and evaluations to be made as part of the accreditation visits will include evaluations of the goals of the programs, outcomes of the programs, teaching staff, physical and academic infrastructure, testing-evaluation process, and quality assurance.

FEDEK accreditation visit is planned to end on February 10, 2026.
