Faculty of Maritime 2025-2026 Academic General Assembly Meeting was Held

Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Faculty of Maritime 2025-2026 Academic General Assembly Meeting was held.

The Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, the Dean of Faculty of Maritime Prof. Dr. Şaban Çelikoğlu, vice deans, and academics attended the meeting held at Faculty of Maritime on Kepez Campus.

Dean Prof. Dr. Şaban Çelikoğlu gave a presentation on the academic activities in 2024-2025 academic year. Prof. Dr. Çelikoğlu talked about the initiatives to be taken during the 2025-2026 academic year, academic year plan, the number of academic and administrative staff and the students, completed and ongoing scientific and social projects, and academic studies. Çelikoğlu also talked about planned academic projects as well as social and cultural activities for the students, and concluded his words thanking Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer who has always supported the Faculty of Maritime.

Rector Özölçer: “Our Faculty stands out with its academic success and social projects”

Following Prof. Dr. Şaban Çelikoğlu’s presentation, the Rector of BEUN Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer evaluated the 2024-2025 academic year. Wishing the new academic year spring term would be beneficial for the Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University family, Rector Özölçer emphasized the significance of qualified studies to be made by academic units in the fields of health, engineering, science, social sciences, maritime, tourism, and education. Rector Prof. Dr. Özölçer stated that Faculty of Maritime is in a significant position with its social and cultural initiatives taken in collaboration with respective sectors as well as its academic success.

Rector Özölçer emphasized the need to adopt innovative approaches considering the significance of sustainable education and preparing students as individuals who can solve problems taking today’s conditions into consideration especially in terms of the sector, is aware of the requirements of their profession, productive, undertaker, social, and academically and socially strong, for the future.  Prof. Dr. Özölçer also highlighted that the number of qualified scientific publications should increase and academic collaborations should be strengthened. Emphasizing the contributions of the faculty to the development of the city with its academic studies, Rector Özölçer expressed his thanks to all academic and administrative staff for their contributions.

Faculty of Maritime 2025-2026 Academic General Assembly Meeting ended with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to the academics who stood out with their scientific studies published in the national and international indexes and a commemorative photo.
