“Entrepreneurship & Career Summit” Met with Students at BEUN

“Entrepreneurship & Career Summit” organized by Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) was carried out with wide participation, ranging from academics and students to sector representatives and institution administrators. The day-long program at Sezai Karakoç Cultural Center on Farabi Campus drew attention with its comprehensive sessions on the entrepreneurial ecosystem and career planning.

The first part of the program started at 10 a.m. with the opening of stands by various company representatives in the foyer area. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the employment and internship opportunities offered by the companies. The stands served as a significant meeting point in terms of the opportunities provided for the young people and the current needs of the industry.

“Patent Talks: 45 Minutes with an Expert” Received Great Appreciation from the Participants

Following the visits to the stands, the first session of the day was held, moderated by the Vice Dean of the BEUN Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Prof. Dr. Şenay Saraç, with Turkish Patent and Trademark Office Industrial Property Expert, Reyyan Pınar Sözbilen as the speaker.

In the session titled “Patent Talks: 45 Minutes with an Expert”. Prof. Dr. Saraç and Sözbilen gave comprehensive information on various topics such as patent process, the significance of industrial property, trademark, and design registration. In addition to presenting technical information on the patent process, Prof. Dr. Şenay Saraç and Rayyan Pınar Sözbilen emphasized that commercialization of knowledge and protection of innovation are decisive for the future of the economy. Highlighting the role of patent culture on the transformation of knowledge into added value, Prof. Dr. Şenay Saraç said, “Each discovery starts with a step. It is only possible to take that step into the future through proper intellectual property management.”

Enriched with the question-and-answer session, the program concluded with BEUN Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu, presenting the certificate of appreciation to the speaker and a group photo session.

“New Trends in Human Resources” Panel Drew Significant Interest

The second session, “New Trends in Human Resources” panel, was held at the Sezai Karakoç Cultural Center at 2 p.m. Moderated by the Director of the BEUN Career Planning Application and Research Center, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seda Tapdık Terzioğlu, the panel was held with the Director of Eren Energy Human Resources, Eren Erden, and the Director of Erdemit Human Resources, Dr. Atilla Yelboğa as speakers.

During the panel, important evaluations were made regarding changing approaches in human resources management, the impact of digitalization on human resources processes, talent management, new-generation working models, and the expectations of the future workforce. Emre Erden, Human Resources Director of Eren Energy, emphasized that young people who produce solutions gain value in the changing business world, stating, “Today, companies are not looking for diplomas but for minds that can produce solutions and have an innovative perspective. The sought-after individuals of the future will stand out not with technical skills, but with problem-solving abilities and rapid adaptability.”

Erdemir Human Resources Director Dr. Atilla Yelboğa addressed the new needs created by digitalization in the business world, describing the understanding of future careers as follows: “Success in the business world will not be possible with unmoving talent; it will be possible with individuals who continuously renew themselves and make learning a habit.”

Enriched by participants’ questions, the panel concluded with BEUN Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu presenting certificates of appreciation to the speakers, followed by a commemorative photo session.
