
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Prof. Dr. Ahmet Gümen paid a visit to the Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Çaycuma Food and Agriculture Vocational School and examined the first of its kind in Türkiye “Equipped Laboratory of Clinical Skills” on site.
During the visit, Governor of Zonguldak Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, as well as provincial and district dignitaries were also present. Rector Prof. Dr. Özölçer provided Deputy Minister Gümen with comprehensive information regarding the laboratory’s technical infrastructure, educational model, and the practical learning opportunities it offers students.
“An Important Example in Applied Education”
Making evaluations within the scope of the visit, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Prof. Dr. Ahmet Gümen emphasized the importance of the field-oriented aspect of vocational education and stated:
“Such application centers that enhance the quality of vocational education ensure that our students are better equipped for the field. I believe that this laboratory, which is the first of its kind in Türkiye, will make significant contributions to training qualified human resources in the fields of veterinary health and food sciences. I congratulate all academic and administrative staff who contributed to this initiative.”
“An Investment Strengthening Our Vision of Qualified Education”
BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer emphasized that the laboratory makes a significant contribution to the University’s educational vision and made the following remarks:
“The Equipped Laboratory of Clinical Skills established within our Çaycuma Food and Agriculture Vocational School is a modern educational environment where our students can reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practice while prioritizing animal welfare. In addition to being the first of its kind in Türkiye at the vocational school level, this investment also contributes to increasing our students’ professional competencies and enabling them to adapt more quickly to professional life.”
Prof. Dr. Özölçer also highlighted the University’s goals of strengthening its educational infrastructure, stating:
“Such qualified investments enhance both the academic and scientific capacity of our University and our region. I would like to thank all stakeholders who contributed to this initiative.”
Laboratory Examined On Site
Following the statements, the delegation examined the Equipped Laboratory of Clinical Skills on site and received detailed information about the simulation systems and application areas. The visit concluded with a commemorative photo session.
This innovative laboratory established at the BEUN Çaycuma Food and Agriculture Vocational School is intended to strengthen the practice-based learning approach in vocational education and serve as a model at both the national and international levels.
