Zonguldak Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Senior Colonel Barış Cücen, General Manager of the Turkish Hard Coal Enterprises (TTK) Muharrem Kiraz, President of the Zonguldak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZTSO) Metin Demir, and their accompanying delegation visited Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ulusoy, who was appointed Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) with the approval of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. During the visit, the delegation conveyed their best wishes to Prof. Dr. Ulusoy on his new appointment and wished him success in his tenure.

Rector Ulusoy: “University-Public Institution and University-Industry Collaboration Will Be Strengthened”
Expressing his pleasure at the visit, Rector Prof. Dr. Ulusoy stated that universities are not merely institutions that train qualified human resources for professional life and public institutions; they also contribute to public institutions, industry, and the business community through their academic expertise and knowledge.
In this regard, highlighting the collaboration between BEUN and TTK, one of Zonguldak’s most deep-rooted institutions, Rector Ulusoy stated that they would work hard to establish a stronger and more comprehensive structure. Ulusoy emphasized that strengthening cooperation between TTK and BEUN in areas including education, research and development, technology, practical applications, and the training of qualified human resources would contribute to the development of Zonguldak.
Highlighting that cooperation between ZTSO and the university would contribute to the economic, cultural, and social development of Zonguldak, Rector Ulusoy stated that strengthening ties between industry and academia would enable students to gain experience in the sector and transform academic knowledge into production.

Senior Colonel Cücen, TTK General Manager Kiraz, and the ZTSO delegation emphasized that BEUN plays a significant role in Zonguldak through its qualified human resources and strong academic infrastructure. They added that it is of great importance to further strengthen initiatives in university-industry cooperation, entrepreneurship, research and development, technology, and the training of qualified human resources.
