The “Children’s University” Program, organized by the Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Continuing Education Research and Application Center (BEUNSEM), was held from 29 June to 3 July and concluded with a graduation ceremony.
The program held at Tahir Karauğuz Conference Hall on Farabi Campus was attended by BEUN Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Zehra Safi Öz, Secretary General of Western Black Sea Development Agency Mehmet Çetinkaya, Zonguldak Provincial Deputy Director of Family and Social Services Ali Osman Yılmaz, academics, families, and students.
Children’s University Graduation Ceremony, held traditionally for the students from the 5th grade to 8th following the courses on various disciplines, began with a moment of silence for the revered martyrs and singing of the National Anthem.
Following the National Anthem, a video screening including moments from the courses was appreciated.
In his opening speech, BEUN Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu stated that Children’s University does not only provide academic knowledge, but a significant training model that contributes to their sense of wonder, promotes dreams, and prepares them for the future.
Emphasizing that children are the most valuable treasures in Türkiye, Prof. Dr. Karasu stated that they should never lose time or quit doing research, asking questions or dreaming. Noting that he believes that children will achieve significant success in various fields from science and sports to arts and technology, Karasu thanked families for their support as well as the academic and administrative staff for their dedicated work throughout the program.
Following his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Servet Karasu presented academic and administrative staff with the certificate of appreciation. Students were also presented with their certificate of attendance. Following the certification ceremony, cap tossing ceremony was held with great enthusiasm.
Following the cap tossing ceremony, the program ended with a commemorative photo.
