Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu participated in the final project jury of the Üzülmez Cultural Valley, organized by the Middle East Technical University (METU) Faculty of Architecture.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zonguldak Chamber of Commerce and Industry Metin Demir, Zonguldak President of the Architects’ Chamber Ece Bakioğlu, and Board members of Architects’ Chamber İrem Papila and Derya Aydan along with Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu were present in the final jury of the projects prepared by METU Faculty of Architecture students within the scope of the “ARCH 401 Architectural Desing V” studio course.

The students developed spatial designs at different scales with scenarios for the future of the space and adaptive reuses in line with their field studies in Üzülmez Cultural Valley within the scope of the project titled “The Future of a Previous Coal Mining Space: Zonguldak Üzülmez Valley” carried out under the supervision of Prof. Dr. F. Cânâ Bilsel and Prof. Dr. Özlem Karakul Türk.

Speaking in the final jury of the projects created to contribute to the Üzülmez Valley Project carried out under the leadership of Zonguldak Governorship, Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu stated that students’ projects were incredibly creative, innovative, and qualified and added that they were prepared meticulously with great effort. Prof. Dr. Kutoğlu thanked valuable members of the METU Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. F. Cânâ Bilsel and Prof. Dr. Özlem Karakul Türk who contributed to the projects and students who stood before the jury with their work.
