
Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) has taken yet another step in line with its internationalization vision with global academic collaborations. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zaid Alrawadieh, a faculty member of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Operations at Oxford Brookes University- one of the most prestigious higher education institutions of England- was appointed as a part-time academic staff member at BEUN Karadeniz Ereğli Faculty of Tourism within the scope of Article 46 (Additional) of Higher Education Law No. 2547.
Known for his academic studies and international experience, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alrawadieh met with senior students of Department of Tour Guiding at BEUN for “Graduation Project” course. On the first session of the course on October 6, 2025, Dr. Alrawadieh talked about research techniques, academic ethics, and the process of their projects, and emhasized the importance of interdisciplinary approach and a global perspective in academic productivity.
The Rector of Bülent Ecevit University, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer emhasized the significance of the studies within the scope of internationalizarion mission of the universiy and benefiting from the experience of distinguished academics. He also added:
“We are glad to include such a respected academic from a deep-rooted higher education institution, Oxford Brookes University in our university. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zaid Alrawadieh will contribute to both the academic and professional development of our students with his knowledge, publishing experience and global academic success.”
Rector Özölçer stated that BEUN aims to develop a diverse cultural and scientific point of view in students by bringing in international academics and added, “As BEUN, we care about introducing experienced professors at the international level to our students. Thanks to these academic collaborations, our students have a chance to meet not only theoretical knowledge but also international research culture and innovative approaches. This academic synergy enhances the academic quality and the visibility of BEUN both in the local and international scale. With these in mind, I would like to thank Assoc.
