Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) rose to 256th place in the UI GreenMetric 2026 World University Rankings.

Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) ranked 256th among 2,016 universities worldwide and 30th among 152 universities in Türkiye in the UI GreenMetric 2026 World University Rankings, which evaluate studies in the field of sustainability.

Despite the increase in the number of universities evaluated from 1,745 to 2,016 worldwide and from 142 to 152 in Türkiye, BEUN’s rise in the ranking demonstrated that its studies in the field of sustainability are reflected in international-scale evaluations. While BEUN ranked 290th among 1,745 universities worldwide in 2025, it rose to 256th among 2,016 universities in 2026, moving up 34 places. In the Türkiye ranking, BEUN, which ranked 32nd in the previous year, rose to 30th among 152 universities in 2026, moving up two places.

Rector Ulusoy: “We Continue to Increase Our Visibility in the Field of Sustainability”

Commenting on BEUN’s rise in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ulusoy stated that Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University’s studies in the field of sustainability continue under different headings and said:

 “We are pleased that our University rose 34 places compared to the previous year in the UI GreenMetric 2026 World University Rankings, ranking 256th worldwide and 30th in Türkiye. The fact that we have improved our position in the ranking despite the increase in the number of universities evaluated demonstrates that our efforts in the field of sustainability continue steadily. In the coming period, we will continue our sustainability-oriented studies in the fields of environment, energy, waste management, transportation, education and research, and continue to further develop our University’s work in this field.”
