Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEUN) met prospective students and their families as part of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) Preference Period in the University Promotion and Preference Fair, organized at Konya Selçuklu Congress Center.
During the organization on the 29 July, BEUN was represented by Lecturer İremnur Aydın from the Quality Office and Head of the Branch Manager of the Secretary General’s Office Rabia Nihal Gürses Demirtürk. Prospective students and their families visiting the stand during the day were informed on educational programs, international exchange opportunities, hands-on training model, scholarships, internships, and accommodation facilities as well as the career opportunities following graduation.
Rich Heritage, Strong Academic Infrastructure, and Professions of the Future
During the promotion days, prospective students were informed on the educational vision of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, one of the most well-established universities in Türkiye with its deep roots going back to 1924. With its 30,000 students, nearly 123,000 graduates, its 16 faculties, 9 vocational schools, 3 schools, 1 state conservatory, and 34 application and research centers, BEUN attracted great interest from young students who are interested in the professions of the future with its new generation programs such as artificial intelligence, robotics, offshore technologies and others. The 28 accredited programs, 20 departments with TYÇ logo, Erasmus+ agreements with 43 countries, double major and transfer opportunities of the university were also promoted.
Science Producing and Technology Developing University
One of the most popular points in BEUN promotion was the research and technology ecosystem.
Projects carried out in National Technology Workshops, achievements in TEKNOFEST, TÜBİTAK, and ÜNİDES projects were shared with prospective students. Scientific production capacity of the university, particularly the international success of Grizu-263 Space Team which send the first and only pocket satellite in Türkiye, university’s technology-focused educational approach project culture was among the points of interest. It was also mentioned that students can make use of hands-on training, internships, and career opportunities thanks to the collaborations with Zonguldak TEKNOPARK, industrial and public institutions.
Student Friendly Campus Life
BEUN stood out with its student-friendly campus life as well as its academic success during the promotion days. The visitors were informed about the modern libraires, sports facilities, more than 180 student clubs, cultural and arts activities, campus life and state dormitories located near the campus of the university which strengthened its ecofriendly campus through the success achieved in GreenMetric rankings.

In his remarks on the University Promotion and Preference Fair organized in Konya, BEUN Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer stated the following:
“University preference period is one of the most important periods that shape the future of young people. We care about sharing the educational approach, scientific production capacity and facilities we provide with our students during this period. Our university raises students as individuals who think, produce, research, and add value to our country with its strong academic heritage and faculty members, accredited programs, international collaborations, technology-focused educational approach, application and research infrastructure.
